Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, received a traditional title during her homecoming to Warri Kingdom in Delta State, where she called for greater unity among citizens across the nation.
She was welcomed by the paramount ruler of the kingdom, the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, at a colourful ceremony attended by dignitaries and members of the community.

During the visit, the First Lady urged the people of Warri Kingdom to remain united, regardless of their differences, emphasising the importance of peaceful coexistence.
“The Bible tells us in Psalm 133, verse 1–3, that it is pleasant to dwell together in unity, for that is where God commanded blessings,” she stated.
Mrs Tinubu assured the large crowd that turned out to welcome her of the government’s continued support and commitment, noting that the Delta State Governor had been doing commendable work in the state.
On behalf of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), she donated the sum of ₦50 million to 1,000 female petty traders in the state as part of efforts to support women’s economic empowerment.

Earlier, Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, explained that the First Lady had visited the state three times twice when he was in another political party and now after his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) demonstrating what he described as tremendous love and sincerity in her care for Nigerians.
“She has a large heart, and those visits where she flagged off the women petty traders’ empowerment and the launch of the Free to Shine campaign encouraged me to make up my mind to join the APC.
“May God continue to empower you to continue to put smiles on the faces of more Nigerians,” he said.

In his remarks, the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, urged the people to let go of past hurts and grievances to promote peace, progress, and prosperity.
The monarch said the entire kingdom is proud of the First Lady.
“We are proud of who you are, who you have become. Our women know how to take very good care of their husbands.
“Thank you for being a very good example to our girls and women,” the monarch stated.
Mrs Tinubu, whose mother hails from Warri in Delta State, was conferred with the traditional title of Utukpa-Oritse of Warri Kingdom, also known as Ugbone, meaning “Light of God.”
