Governor of Kano state, Dr. Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has directed all political appointees running for elective offices in the forthcoming 2023 general elections to resign from their respective positions.

This is according to a press statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Abbah Anwar.

According to the governor, the political appointees have until Monday, April 18, to resign from their positions.

He said the order came against the backdrop of the recently amended electoral act, which mandates political appointees seeking elective positions to resign months before election.

“It is to comply with Section 84 (12) of the newly amended Electoral Act,” he added.
