Zakari Dobi emerged as the APC Candidate for Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory, FCT’s Senatorial seat in 2023, after securing the highest number of votes cast during the party primary held at the women’s centre in Abuja.

Honourable Dobi won with a wide margin of 277 votes to defeat his closest rival, Mrs Adebayo Benjamins-Laniyi, who came second during the primary with twenty-eight votes.

Others were Bitrus Zaphania Jisalo and Jibrin Wowo, who got one vote each.

Speaking shortly after his victory, Honorable Dobi promised to entrench good governance if elected to represent the people of the FCT, Abuja, at the National Assembly come 2023.

He called on all his fellow contestants and party chieftains, stakeholders and party stalwarts to come together to support the APC and his candidature to salvage the people of the FCT.

The APC Senatorial Candidate urged the residents to give him the mandate to pilot the affairs of the FCT in the red chamber of the National Assembly.

Honourable Dobi was a two-term Gwagwalada Area Council Chairman and Former House of Representatives member from 2015 to 2019 for the Abuja South Federal Constituents.

He was also the immediate past Mandate Secretary, FCT Transport Secretariat from November 2021 to May 2022 before he resigned to slot it out during the APC primary.
