As the 2023 general election in Nigeria draws closer, Mr. Kolawole Abiola has emerged as the People’s Redemption Party, PRP, Presidential candidate.
Mr. Abiola won the PRP’s Presidential ticket with a total vote of 2,097 to defeat his closest revival, Usman Muhammad Bugaje, who polled 813 votes.

The PRP National Chairman, Alhaji Falalu Bello, declared Mr. Abiola, the winner of the party’s presidential primary, held across the 36 States of the Federation.
According to him, a 36-man committee and the State organising committee for the primary election were earlier set up, and they conducted the Primaries in the various states of Nigeria.
He explained that the party’s presidential seat had not been zoned to any part of the country, and all party members were free to contest.
The people’s Redemption Party’s presidential primary started from 12 noon to 4 pm across the States. The results were collated at the Party’s Secretary in Abuja, the nation’s capital, with the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, officials present to witness the process.
