2023: Kwara PDP guber flagbearer vows to reclaim the State

Upon his landslide triumph at the Kwara state Peoples Democratic Party, PDP’s gubernatorial primary election, Alhaji Shuaib Yaman Abdullahi has stated his resoluteness in taking back the mantle of leadership in the state for his party in the 2023 election.

Yaman while giving his acceptance speech, stated that the PDP by 2023 will hoist its flag in the Kwara state government house in Ilorin. 

He said, “This is a great task, I’m inviting you all to join me in the great task ahead of us and together by God’s grace, by 2023 PDP will hoist its flag in Kwara state government house, Ilorin”.

He later expressed his gratitude to the delegates for their resilience and patience in staying till the end of the event that lasted late into the night. 

Yaman said, “I want to thank the delegates who have more than shown resilience and patience to have stayed here since morning up to this very late hours.

“I thank the INEC, the party members and I want to commend the PDP because the party has shown today that it is welcoming every member of the society into the PDP, it is not how early, but what you have to contribute to the party, so, 

“This party has opened the door to every member of the society and I urge all APC members to quickly come and join because this great train called PDP is moving towards victory and whoever doesn’t join now will be left behind to face failure.

 “We invite everybody to join us reclaim Kwara state for the Peoples Democratic Party,the only party that has put Kwara on the great path of success,” he said.

Meanwhile, other aspirants who were seen warmly congratulating the winner, showed tremendous spirit of sportsmanship as they both accepted and commended the result of the primary election.

The first runner up, Hon.Aliyu Ahman-Pategi Bahago while speaking to newsmen, hailed the entire process, describing the result as a victory for democracy, he however pledged his support to the victor and the party as a whole.

In his own words, Bahago said, “I’m happy that at the end of the day, democracy has won and I wish the winner good luck I will support him, I will support and be loyal to my party.” 

Similarly , the second runner-up, Prof.Yisa Gana expressed his satisfaction in the electoral process, he also stated his happiness that a Kwara northerner after a long while, will finally have a chance to occupy the Governorship seat of the state.

He said, “I’m very happy, our people have chosen the candidates as a PDP major stakeholder I’m very happy and for the first time in a long time, a Kwara northerner will become Governor of Kwara State, and I will support him with everything.”

Speaking on Yaman’s chance , Gana simply said, ” he has a great chance and our party does too.”

The Party Chairman in the state, Babatunde Mohammed in his remark, thanked aspirants for their cooperation, unity and maturity shown in their conduct, he however described the outcome as a history in the making.
