The Governorship primary of Nigeria’s main opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Lagos State, is currently ongoing in Ikeja, the State capital.
Delegates from all the local government areas in the State have gathered at the primary’s venue to elect the candidate who would be the party’s flagbearer ahead of the 2023 general election.
Leading contenders for the Governorship ticket include the founder of core media, Abdulazeez Olajide, businessman Jimi Karmal, and party chieftain Deji Doherty.
Voice of Nigeria’s Correspondent at the event reports that activities are yet to commence at 3:00 pm amid indications of ongoing horse-trading among the aspirants.
