“2023 offers Opportunity to change Country’s Trajectory”- Kwara Senatorial Candidate
Tunde Akanbi, Ilorin.
The People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) Senatorial candidate for Kwara Central and former Minister For Youths and Sports Development, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, has described the 2023 as a year that offers Nigerians the unique opportunity to elect a new set of leaders who will change the trajectory of the country and set it on the path of greatness again.
Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi said this as he congratulated the good people of Kwara Central senatorial district and Nigerians at large on the occasion of the New Year celebrations.
He commended his constituents on the resilience shown in the face of the unjustifiable hardship witnessed under the ruling party in the last 7 years, lamenting that the situation of the country has never been this worse, even though that is the best the All Progressives Congress (APC) can offer.
“The New Year offers us an opportunity to reflect on our journey as a country.
“The entire African continent looked up to us at some point.
“How we moved from the fastest growing economy under the PDP to the poverty capital of the world under the APC is frustrating.
“The last 7 years plus have been the toughest in our history.
“The unjustifiable hardship we are witnessing under the APC is as a result of crass incompetence and nothing else.
“But the good thing about democracy is that you have the opportunity to re-evaluate your decisions every 4 years, and I’m more than confident that we have learnt our lessons.
“This time we must resist the urge to vote incompetent candidates for any reason. This time we must get it right,” said Abdullahi.
On the impending 2023 General Elections, the former minister urged Nigerians to resist ethnic and religious divisions, or any form of provocations, that will lead to the breakdown of law and order in the country.
“Nigeria is all we have. And we must protect it jealously,” he said.
