A presidential aspirant, Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, has recommended the emergence of a Nigerian President of Igbo extraction as the way forward for the nation to realise its greatness and potentials.
Mazi Ohuabunwa, the New Nigeria Group(NNG) convener, stated this during a consultative meeting with representatives of interest groups from ethnic nationalities in the nation held in Awka. He also hinged the attainment of good governance in the nation to establish the righteous in power.
“We are going to have a new Nigeria where the Igbo man will lift it. It is an answered prayer that God wants an Igbo man to emerge as President of Nigeria this time.”
He added that NNG would mobilise like-minded citizens to install enlightened,  visionary and committed leadership in the nation,  guided by such philosophy as knowledge, industry, integrity, patriotism, justice, freedom and godliness.
While calling for a reformation of the nation and a change in the narrative, he reasoned that it could optimise its human and material resources to attain global competitiveness. According to the aspirant who identified poverty as the nation’s problem confirmed that once it is solved, it will primarily handle the issues associated with corruption, the same way justice will deal with insecurity.
