2023 Presidency: I’m desperate to develop Nigeria – Akpabio

Former Akwa Ibom state governor and frontline presidential aspirant under the platform of All Progressive Congress, APC, Godswill Akpabio has declared that he is not desperate to ascend to political leadership of Nigeria but rather desperate to develop the nation.

Senator Akpabio made the assertion while wooing Kano state delegates to support his presidential ambition, at the Coronation Hall, government house, Kano state north Western Nigeria.

He said issues related to security, economy and general welfare of the citizenry informed his despiration to become the next President of Nigeria come 2023.

We will use technology and partner with our neighboring countries to tackle insecurity bedeviling the country.

” We will also use our technical know how provide job opportunities and make sure that Naira regained it’s value among international currencies,” said Akpabio.

He said with what is happening between Ukraine and Russia, there is an urgent need for Nigeria to strategize on how to export Gas to Europe earn more foreign exchange and end Gas flaring in the Niger Delta.

“With the experiences I currently have in the oil and gas sector, I will actualize exportation of Gas to Europe, when I become the next president of Nigeria,” he stressed.

Akpabio said his Presidency will also make Education easy for the poor, ensure steady power supply, embark on industrial production, including the agricultural sector, which will be transformed to a robust and modern one, where youths will be gainfully employed

“We will go into production like dangote and not to be importing. If you create jobs youths will not be available for crime,

“When I was a governor in Akwa Ibom i gave free education to children in my state irrespective of their ethnic or religious background.

” if we didn’t train them well, when they grow up, they will be creating nuisance.in the society,” he explained.

He urged the delegates to vote for somebody like him, who believes in national integration of the country Nigeria as well as has interest of the masses at heart and not money bags.

Nigeria presidency is not for sale, vote for me. With your support, I believe you are already facing the next president of Nigeria.”

I want to bequeath this country to my children as a Nigerian. I’m not a separatist,” he said.

Kano state Govenor Umar Ganduje said Akpabio’s visit to the state is instructive as Kano with 44 LGAs, 484 wards has the highest number of delegates in the country.

We are the biggest democracy Nigeria because of the number of delegates and we also have political dexterity. We pray for you to become the President of Nigeria, “ said Ganduje.

He commended Akabio for his uncommon records of development in his home state of Akwa Ibom as well as for being a true Nigerian with no ethnic or religious bias wherever he finds himself.
