2023 will determine Nigeria’s sustainability of democracy – Oyo Speaker

The Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin has stated that the peaceful and successful conduct of the 2023 general election would determine the sustainability of Nigeria’s democracy and the future of the country.
Hon. Ogundoyin who stated this in his new year message asked Nigerians to pray fervently for a smooth and peaceful transition from one civilian government to another in the year 2023.
“There was the need for Nigerians to increase their voices in prayers to God for a peaceful and prosperous new year”.
He noted that the events coming up in the year 2023, especially the general elections, were crucial and important to the nation hence the need for more sincere supplications.
Ogundoyin stated: “Happy and prosperous New Year to everyone of us. May the Lord bless us in the new year, 2023 and grant all our prayer requests for ourselves and our dear nation. The general election coming up this year is another test for our democracy.
“we all must play our parts in ensuring that the country is not thrown into post election crisis or avoidable political upheaval which may spell doom for the nation,” the speaker asserted.
Ogundoyin, who felicitated the people of Oyo State on the commencement of another 365days, called on residents of the state to reciprocate the good gesture and performance of Governor Seyi Makinde by voting for all the PDP candidates in the election.
While wishing all sons and daughters of Ibarapaland, particularly the people of Ibarapa East State Constituency, a happy and prosperous new year 2023, he urged them to come out en-masse to exercise their civic duty during the election.
