A few hours after the Nigerian Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, officially declared his intention to contest the presidency in 2023; a political group called the Kwara Coalition For Osinbajo declared their support for him.

The coalition consisting of various groups such as Higher Nigeria Movement, Osinbajo Grassroots Organisation, Kwara Alliance For Yemi Osinbajo, Osinbajo Support Movement and National Coalition Group held a Mega Rally on Monday around major streets in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital North Central Nigeria.

At the All Progressives Congress (APC) secretariat, members of the coalition comprising male and female, pledged their support for the presidential ambition of Professor Yemi Osinbajo and Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for a second term in office.

Addressing the executive of the APC and supporters of the group at the party secretariat, the team leader, Baba Abdulfatah, said they were at the secretariat to solicit the support of the executive and the entire membership of the party in the state for Professor Yemi Osinbajo’s presidential ambition.

According to him, they are confident that if Nigerians could allow him to govern the nation, and with his seven years of experience as Vice President, he would administer and positively transform the nation for the better.

The Public Relations Officer of the group, Ambassador Olasukanmi Abeeb, commended the courage and boldness of Osinbajo to come out and declaring his readiness to rule the nation.

He described Osinbajo as the right man for the job.

The state APC Secretary, Alhaji Mustapha Ishowo, who welcomed the group, appealed to them to maintain decorum in their campaign and urged them to ensure the total victory of the party at all levels.

The former National Chairman and Vice-Presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN), Alhaji Ganiyu Galadima, also joined the group in the Mega Rally.

On Sunday, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo addressed a group of Nigerian governors where he held consultations with them. After that, he declared his intention to vie for the nation’s presidency.
