Logistics Support Crucial For Operations- Nigerian Navy

The Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral Yakubu Wambai has stated that effective logistics support is key to successful military operations.

The FOC made the assertion when he paid a courtesy visit on the Commander Nigerian Army Corps of Supply and Transport, Major General Bolaji Nicodemus Salami at the Corps Headquarters in Lagos.

 

 

 

 

Rear Admiral Wambai noted that the visit became necessary to enable him familiarize himself with some major military formations and units in Lagos as well as solicit for a more continuous cooperation and support for improved service delivery to the Nigerian Navy operations especially in support of the troops deployed in Operation AWATSE.

He further reiterated on the need for synergy for successful conduct of all operations in the Armed Forces of Nigeria, stressing that the Nigerian Army Corps of Supply and Transport support was crucial for successful operations in the Nigerian Army in particular and the Armed Forces in general.

He commended the Corps Commander for the improved infrastructural development at the Corps Headquarters and other tremendous achievements so far recorded.

In his response, Major General Salami thanked the FOC for the visit adding that the Corps of Supply and Transport  has embarked on series of innovations to boost delivery of materiel to Nigerian Army formations involved in various operations across country.

The Corps Commander used the opportunity to appreciate the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya for the overwhelming  support the Corps has received towards performing its assigned roles. He highlighted that the Corps was ready to offer support such as transportation, Petroleum Oil and Lubricants, firefighting and catering services in support of the troops deployed in Operation AWATSE in order to further enhance their operational capabilities.
