Iheanacho’s early goal fails to prevent Leicester thrashing
As calls grow for sack of Coach Rodgers
Kelechi Iheanacho’s 55 seconds strike did little to prevent Leicester from being thrashed 5-2 by EPL surprise package Brighton.
Moises Caicedo then took center stage for the Sea Gulls after an own-goal from Foxes defender Luke Thomas tied the game.
The Ecuadorian international made it 2-1 with a powerful drive into the corner following Enock Mwepu’s piercing run; only for Zambian Patson Daka to make it 2-2 just before half-time.
But then, things fell apart.
Three second-half goals from Alexis Mac Allister (two) and Leandro Trossard ensured Brighton stayed fourth in the Premier League with 13 points from a possible 18.
Leicester remain rock bottom.
Iheanacho – who started ahead of poacher Jamie Vardy – must now dig deep to save the Foxes’ season.

Sack
Leicester have taken only one point from six matches with the fan base getting restive and calls for the sack of Brendan Rodgers getting louder.
But the under-pressure Leicester manager has no interest in seeking the backing of Leicester ’s Thai owners.
He has never lost five in a row during his managerial career and Leicester haven’t had a start this bad since 1989 in the Old Second Division.
“I’ll continue to do my work and come in and study and do as much as I can. I’ve never turned work down. I’ve always come in early and finished late at night and until someone tells me differently I’ll continue to do that.
“The challenge, we have to embrace it, I’m certainly not going to shirk it. It’s been really difficult but we just need to get that laser focus on the team working well and hopefully then the supporters can really support the team.”
He needs to turn things around before the sack axe comes – hopefully enough to stave off calamity and reinforce in January.
