Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have donated an undisclosed amount to charities in the wake of the flooding crisis ravaging several parts of Nigeria.

Floods, in recent weeks, have ravaged many parts of Nigeria, leaving hundreds dead and over a million displaced.

The development has been blamed on heavy rainfall and a water release from a dam in neighbouring Cameroon.

Verified source quoted a press release from a Spotify representative as saying Markle and Harry’s Archewell Foundation made donations to both UNICEF and Save the Children.

“Being biracial paints a blurred line that is equal parts staggering and illuminating,” she had said.

“While my mixed heritage may have created a grey area surrounding my self-identification, keeping me with a foot on both sides of the fence, I have come to embrace that.”

“To say who I am, to share where I’m from, to voice my pride in being a strong, confident mixed-race woman.”

In September 2019, Meghan also addressed her racial heritage during her tour of Africa.

In a speech she gave while visiting a charity home in Zimbabwe, she said: “For me, I am here with you as a mother, as a wife, as a woman, as a woman of colour, and as your sister.”
