Abuja: Group trains 40 Youths on digital skills

An Islamic Group, the Al-Habibiyya Islamic Society in Nigeria has trained forty youths on digital skills with the aim of equipping them to be self-reliant.

Addressing the participants in Abuja, the Chief Imam of the group, Fuad Adeyemi informed them of the impact of Information and Communications Technology, ICT in the present digital age.

“We know the world is turning into else with ICT, especially yahoo – yahoo is becoming rampant. We cannot continue to complain. We just need to do something.”

Imam Fuad Adeyemi called on them to be responsible and ensure that they expand the knowledge acquired to help contribute to Nigeria’s economy.

He promised that with more support, the digital skill training will be expanded to capture other states.

As an Anti-corruption vanguard, the group also preached to the youths messages on the dangers of corruption and the need to be anti-corruption advocates.

Also speaking, the Chairman Board of Trustees BOT Al-Habibiyya Islamic Society, Kola Adeyemi stressed the importance of learning digital skills for the advancement of knowledge.

He said at the present digital age, training is imperative in building their future towards positive gains, it aims to sanitize the society and help in the fight against corruption.

The BOT Chairman said, The programme is designed to inspire you to aspire for the better. Your knowledge is expected to be put to positive use” this knowledge will help you fight corruption by identifying fraudsters in the society.

He urged them to be reasonable, be good ambassadors of their parents and Islam.

Some of the youths who shared their experiences on the day of training promised to advance the ICT training to be able to develop more software.

The training themed; “Promoting digitally skilled youths in a corrupt free society,“ had participants drawn from Kaduna, Kogi States and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
