French Government Partners College to Enhance Technical Education in Agriculture
The French Embassy in Nigeria has partnered with Audu Bako College of Agriculture, Danbatta, Kano State Nigeria, to improve agricultural technical education.
This was disclosed by the Regional Agriculture Counsellor of the French Embassy in Nigeria Dr. Sonia Darracq during a courtesy visit to the College.
She stated during an interactive engagement that the French Ambassador is eager to collaborate with public technical colleges in agriculture in order to facilitate access to technical education in agriculture in France.
In a bid to enable a curriculum, in a way that would make the subject attractive, the Embassy would work together with the College on improved pedagogy.
According to her, the embassy would strengthen and come up with modern techniques, which would change the mindset of the teeming women and youth to embrace modern farming as a means for survival.
Appreciating the management, she noted that the collaboration would include staff and students training, coupled with capacity building.
The Provost, Prof. Muhammad Wailare, in his remark, appraised the Representative of the French Embassy for the new development, assuring that the collaboration would be of great help to the College, the State and the Country at large.
Also present during the meeting was also the Special Assistant to the Kano State governor on Agric matters, Mal. Hafiz Muhammad, among other dignitaries.
