Gankon described the late Victoria as a politician of repute who has over the years contributed to the development and growth of Kaduna state.
“It is our utmost believe that the security agencies will, as a matter of urgency, arrest the culprits and make them face the wrath of the law for short living the life of a woman whose political experience is needed, most especially in this political era for the victory of the party in the state come 2023 and beyond,” he said.
Gankon also disclosed that the husband of the deceased narrowly escaped the attack as he was left to nurse the bullet wounds he sustained during the incident, which was clearly a case of assassination directed at the Labour Party’s women leader.
“We use this medium to also call on the concerned authorities to address all forms of impunity which encourage various forms of political crimes and abuses in the country, especially as the electioneering period is in its peak.
“This development is saddening and must be addressed by the government in order not to heat the polity and further endanger the innocent citizens of Kaduna state.
“This is also to show that the security situation in Kaduna state has gone so bad, hence the need to reverse the ugly situation before it gets out of control.
“It is on this note that as a responsible party, who believe in the development of the state and her people, that we call on the government of Kaduna state to beef up security across the 23 local government areas of the state, just as we also recommended that an investigation committee be set-up to unravel the perpetrators,” he added.
He sympathized with the family of the deceased, the people of Manchok in Kaura Local Government Area, the Labour Party family and the entire people of Kaduna state over the death of Mrs Victoria Chintex.
