Army Training School: Commander charges graduands to be disciplined

The graduating students of Basic Battle Course 05/2022 of 2 Division Nigerian Army Training School have been charged to be disciplined, dedicated and focused

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 2 Division Nigerian Army Major General Aminu Chinade who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Brigadier General ID Oloyede gave the charge during the graduation ceremony held at the Division’s Headquarters, Ibadan Oyo State.

He said he followed the course with keen interest not just because of the central role the Division Training School plays in the Division, but due to its importance to capacity building and service delivery to the Nigerian Army.

The 2 Division GOC also charged them to put the knowledge they gained during the course into effective use as they head to their various units and formations in the Army.

 

He reminded the graduands that much has been given to them and much is equally expected especially now that the country is battling insurgency and other security challenges.

The Division Training Officer, Brigadier General Oluwole Davies said the course is designed to develop troops individually and as a team to be physically robust and mentally alert, build endurance and ability to withstand extreme weather conditions, endure hunger, fatigue and lack of sleep amongst others.

He affirmed that the entire objectives of the course was achieved within the duration of 8 weeks with series of intensive outdoor and indoor training. Some of the contents of the course include; Field Craft, Weapons Handling, Fighting in Built Up Area, Battle Marksmanship, Internal Security Operations, Sexual Exploitation and Abuse.
