President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in Sokoto state for a one-day working visit.
The President, who touched down at the Abubakar Sa’ad III international airport Sokoto at about 10.40 GMT, was received by the Governor of the State, Aminu Tambuwal.
The President then proceeded to the palace of the Sultan of Sokoto, to pay homage on his Eminence, Sultan Muhammad Abubakar Sa’ad, III.
He will later serve as the Special Guest of Honour at annual Chief of Army Staff Conference, which he is expected to declare open.
Security has been beefed up within and around the State capital in readiness for the visit of the Nigerian Leader.
Participants at the conference include senior officers of the Nigerian Army.
The conference is expected to provide ampoule opportunity for the Officers to review their strategies and come up with new innovations in the war against terrorism and other security challenges.
President Buhari will later in the day return to Abuja.
