Nigeria’s Minister of works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, said the Trans-African Highway will help to intensify relations between countries in the world.

Mr. Fashola told Voice of Nigeria in Lagos during a conservation series tagged; ‘Sports, Culture and Diplomacy as Tools in A New World Order’, saying that the high way started many decades back.

One of the experts, the Director- General of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs,

Professor Eghosa Osaghae, who delivered the opening speech at the event described the term “new world order” as a new period of history evidencing dramatic change in world political thoughts and the balance of power in international relations.

Similarly, a former footballer and Sports administrator, Segun Odegbami in his view point said that sports have global impact on the communities.

The power of sport has been dominated by disintegration, introspection and the retreat of the nation-state from the globalization agenda.

In such an environment, scholars, students, and practitioners of international relations are beginning to rethink how sport might be used to tackle climate change, gender inequality and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
