LP Presidential Campaign’s new Director-General pledges Electoral Victory
Bitrus Kozah, Abuja.
The new director-general of the Labour Party’s (LP) Presidential Campaign Council in Nigeria, Mr. Akin Osuntokun, has pledged his commitment to “work assiduously” to ensure victory for the Labour Party in the general election come 2023.
Mr. Osuntokun made the pledge during an interactive session with journalists in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
He said the various support groups for the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, and his running mate, Senator Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, would be given the “maximum attention”.
“Ahead of the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria my leadership would mobilize voters for the victory of the Obi-Datti Campaign Council and all the party’s candidates in the 2023 elections,” he assured.
The director-general of the Labour Party’s Presidential Campaign Council reiterated the council’s commitment to “issue-based campaigns” devoid of “acrimony and hate speech”.
Mr. Osuntokun, who is a senatorial candidate of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) for the 2023 general election, said he had “abandoned” the aspiration for “a higher pursuit”.
He was the senatorial candidate of the Zenith Labour Party in his state before his new appointment as the director-general of the LP’s Presidential Campaign Council.
He was appointed to his current post on December 27, replacing Dr. Doyin Okupe, who had resigned as the director-general of the Labour Party’s Presidential Campaign Council for the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria.
