Gombe State: 5 Political Parties Endorse Action Alliance Gubernatorial Candidate
Rebecca Mu’azu, Gombe.
Five (5) political parties in Gombe state have endorsed the governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA), Brig.-Gen. Nuhu Miller (retd), ahead of the March 18 Governorship and State Assembly Elections in the state.
The parties in the alliance are the African Action Congress (AAC), the Allied People’s Movement (APM), the Action People’s Party (APP), the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and the Accord Party (AP).
Addressing journalists in Gombe, the spokesperson for the alliance, Mr. Muhammed Mahdi-Doho, said the decision was based on the integrity of Miller, after the concerned parties and their leadership resolved to mobilize their supporters for the AA gubernatorial candidate.
He said this would ensure the defeat of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
According to them, if the people in Gombe state truly want good governance, Mr. Miller remains the best political choice for state’s electorate.
The spokesperson, who doubles as the Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Gombe state, said their decision was reached after extensive deliberations and consultations with relevant stakeholders of their parties.
“We have scrutinized the AA gubernatorial candidate, Nuhu Miller, and found him to be more reliable, competent and capable for the job, amongst others.
“He has the needed integrity to drive development in the state that will help improve the wellbeing and welfare of the good people of the state,” said Mr. Mahdi-Doho.
The chairman of the Action Alliance (AA) party in Gombe state, Mr. Auwal Ibrahim, said the alliance had further improved his party’s chances of clinching victory.
“With the endorsement my candidate’s chances are high.
“We thank all the political parties for the confidence reposed in Nuhu Miller,” Mr. Ibrahim said.
He appealed to supporters of all the five (5) political parties to support the AA and vote for Miller on Saturday, March 18, 2023.
Brig.-Gen. Nuhu Miller said his endorsement by the parties was a proof of his antecedents and his capacity to deliver good governance, which the people of the state were yearning for, while seeking support for his candidature.
He also appealed to the youths in the state to conduct themselves peacefully during the elections in their respective polling units and communities.
