The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has unveiled plans for a comprehensive review of the guidelines governing the registration process for ICT service providers and contractors responsible for delivering IT services to Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) within the federal government of Nigeria.

In a statement signed by Mrs Hadiza Umar, head of Corporate Affairs and External Relations at NITDA, the agency stated that the guidelines, initially issued in 2018, outline the registration process for Indigenous IT service providers.

NITDA clarified that, following the issuance of the guidelines, the agency has recognized the imperative to enhance the efficiency of the registration process. The goal is to boost indigenous IT service provision and engage competent vendors for IT service delivery to Ministries, Departments, and Agencies of the Federal Government of Nigeria.

The agency noted that the efforts align with the current administration’s commitment to achieving collective prosperity through efficiency and innovation.
