President Tinubu Approves Cabinet Reshuffle, Drops 5 Ministers

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the immediate cabinet reshuffle of ministers, discharging the Minister of Education, Prof. Mamman Tahir, Minister of Youths, Jamila Bio-Ibrahim, Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Ohanneye and two others.

The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga made this known to State House Correspondents on Wednesday after the Federal Executive Council Meeting presided over by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Mr Onanuga also announced that the President approved the appointment of Bianca Odinaka Odumegwu Ojukwu as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, among six other new Ministers.

Approved to serve as the Minister of Livestock is Idi Mukhtar Maiha.

Reeling out the eight actions approved by the President, Mr Onanuga stated the renaming of the Ministry of Niger Delta Development to the Ministry of Regional Development to oversee the activities of all the Regional Development Commissions.

He listed the re-assignment of ten ministers to new ministries to new ministerial portfolios.

Also, there is the discharge of five ministers, the nomination of seven new ministers for onward transmission to the Senate for confirmation, and the appointment of Shehu Dikko as the Chairman of the National Sports Commission.

The Presidential aide also announced the appointment of Sunday Dare as Special Adviser to the President on Public Communication and Orientation, working from the Ministry of Information and National Orientation.
