This commitment was highlighted in a statement by CADEF’s Chief Executive Officer, Prof. Chiso Ndukwe-Okafor, on Saturday.
Prof. Ndukwe-Okafor emphasised CADEF’s vision of ensuring no woman is left behind in the digital revolution.
Through its tailored programs, CADEF is enabling women to narrow the gender gap and seize new economic opportunities by taking control of their financial futures.
Citing data from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), which shows that 37% of women globally still lack internet access, Ndukwe-Okafor underscored the importance of digital literacy in empowering women to participate fully in digital finance and e-commerce.
In 2024 alone, CADEF successfully trained over 100 women and girls in digital skills, enhancing their ability to thrive in the modern digital landscape.

This year, the organisation plans to expand its reach to underserved communities, aiming to provide even more women with tools to leverage digital platforms for entrepreneurship, career growth, and financial independence.
Aligned with the global push for gender equity, CADEF’s initiatives resonate with the theme of International Women’s Day 2025: “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress.” Director of Programmes, Lovelyn Okafor, reiterated the foundation’s commitment to equipping women with the resources needed to succeed in an increasingly digital world, highlighting that each program brings society closer to inclusion and empowerment.
CADEF has called on stakeholders, partners, and advocates to join in its mission, stressing that collaboration is key to building a future where women and girls have equal opportunities in the digital economy.
