Police Arrest Four Suspected Armed Bandits in Kano

Security operatives of the Nigeria Police have arrested four suspected armed bandits in Kano State, North West Nigeria.

During a media briefing at the Command’s Headquarters in Bompai, Kano, the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, disclosed that the suspects were apprehended based on credible intelligence indicating their plans to procure an AK-47 rifle.

According to SP Kiyawa, the suspects were intercepted at Chula Filling Station with over one million naira in cash, allegedly meant for the arms transaction. Additionally, security operatives recovered three locally made revolver pistols, knives, cutlasses, and charms.

The suspects are currently under investigation at the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID). Upon completion of the inquiry, they will be charged in court.

Speaking on the development, SP Kiyawa reiterated the Command’s dedication to combating crime in the state.

“This achievement is a testament to the Command’s commitment to tackling the infiltration of banditry to the State and other forms of criminality. We appreciate the support and cooperation of the public in our efforts to maintain law and order,” he stated.

He further emphasized that the operation aligns with the directives of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun aimed at strengthening security measures and eliminating criminal activities across the country.
