Niger State reaffirms support for education

Niger State Government in North-Central Nigeria has reaffirmed its continued commitment to accord priority attention to the education sector in the State.

The Niger State Governor in a statement by Lawal Tanko, an information officer, mentioned this during the commissioning of the 1000-capacity Multi-Purpose Conference Hall constructed by the Nigeria Union of Teachers NUT, Niger State wing at Chanchaga, in Minna the Capital.

The Governor who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government SSG, Ahmed Ibrahim Matane further stated that education remains the greatest source of empowerment in the world.

“Therefore the present administration is leaving no stone unturned in giving the sector the desired support and assistance”, he added.

He expressed appreciation and understanding to not only the matured but also the civilized manner the leadership of the union is handling Teachers’ welfare, adding that it is always impressive to see an organized body such as the NUT, avail itself of democratic norms and principles.

The Governor however, stressed that the 1000-capacity Multi-Purpose Conference Hall, built by the NUT is a remarkable achievement worthy of commendation.
