The Nigerian President Bola Tinubu says the ongoing construction of road infrastructure across the satellite towns of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is aimed at revitalising the local economy and improving residents’ quality of life.
Represented by Vice-President Kashim Shettima, President Tinubu stated this on Monday while inaugurating the rehabilitated and expanded Karu Township Roads in Abuja.
He said “the project reflects his administration’s commitment to easing traffic congestion, improving connectivity and delivering the Renewed Hope Agenda through critical infrastructure.”

According to the President, the upgraded roads will reduce travel time, ease traffic gridlock and create a more conducive environment for businesses to thrive.
President Tinubu commended the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, for driving the rapid transformation of the nation’s capital, describing his leadership as focused and result-oriented.
He also praised the contractor, Abdul-Val Construction Limited, for delivering quality work on schedule, saying “the project demonstrates that Nigerian firms can meet international standards.”
In his remarks, Wike said the project had transformed the Karu landscape and urged residents to appreciate the government’s efforts, regardless of political affiliation.
He assured residents that development projects would continue across all communities in the FCT and commended the indigenous contractor for its commitment and professionalism.

The Coordinator of the Satellite Towns Development Department, Abdulkadir Zulkiflu, said the project connects the Karu Interchange on the Abuja–Keffi Expressway to Customs Clinic Junction and includes several adjoining roads.
He added that the project would improve accessibility, traffic flow, drainage and security, while reducing travel time between Karu and the Abuja city centre.
