Governor Zulum commissions multiple projects in Southern Borno.

Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum has commissioned 22 state government projects in southern Borno.
The newly commissioned projects include 13 established and rehabilitated secondary and primary schools; six primary healthcare centres and three municipal buildings comprising two police stations and a government lodge as well as a shopping complex.
The 22 projects are sited in villages and towns of Hawul, Shani, Bayo and Kwaya Kusar Local Government Areas in southern Borno.
The Governor also inspected palaces completed and allocated to some district and ward heads.
In kwayakusar Local government Governor Babagana Umara Zulum commissioned a newly mega-size Government Day Technical Secondary School sited in Wuyo, Bayo local government area. He also commissioned three other projects in same LGA.
While at the Day Technical Secondary Schools Zulum said, “my administration aims to encourage the combination of learning with vocational training, to enable students acquire entrepreneurship skills”.
The Governor after the commissioning, distributed 300 bicycles to students coming from villages, to ease difficulties in transportation.
Aside the day school, Zulum also in Bayo LGA, commissioned two newly built palaces of Distinct heads in Biryel and Wuyo, which were the second and third projects in the LGA.
He noted that the palaces will enhance operations of civil authorities.
Zulum also directed the ministry for religious affairs to construct mosques for both palaces.
Another project commissioned by the Governor was an integrated community islamic school, which is designed to enable children from traditional islamic schools gain access to western education.
Further more in Kwayakusar local government Zulum commissioned a secondary school and a skill acquisition centre donated by the state’s Commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajjiya Zuwaira Gambo.
During the commissioning, Zulum announced support to about 200 beneficiaries jointly sponsored by the governor’s Deputy Chief of Staff, Alhaji Haruna Hassan Tela, and Hon. Salisu Ibrahim, a board member, Borno State Housing Cooperation.
Governor Zulum also commissioned a newly built Government Secondary School in Yimir Dalang also in Kwaya Kusar. The school has 20 classrooms to accommodate 1,000 students and has 4 blocks of 1 and 2 bedrooms staff quarters.
The Governor directed the recruitment of new teachers to be identified from qualified residents of Yimir Lang community.
He also distributed over 300 bicycles to students who trekked to school from neighbouring villages.
The governor also inspected the town’s General Hospital and directed the Hospital Management Board, HMB, to submit all a needs assessment report.
In Hawul local government, governor Zulum commissioned five projects.
At the commissioning of one of the five projects which is a secondary school owned by community members in Sakwa East, the State Government rehabilitated and built two-storey blocks of classrooms, Governor Zulum also donated N10m.
The Governor said the donation was for the community members to run the day to day affairs of the school, which was being run through community funding.
Zulum also commissioned Kinging Central Primary School, which is also a community in Hawul.
The Governor later commissioned newly built classrooms in Yimirshika, and distributed school uniforms, textbooks, and 300 bicycles to students who trek miles to villages.
Zulum also commissioned Comprehensive Primary Healthcare Center, and a new primary school in Kukurupu a community in Hawul Local Government, neighboring Adamawa State.
Kukurupu Primary School was also commissioned, and the governor flagged off the enrollment of 500 pupils and presented textbooks, uniforms and bicycles.
While In Marama, a major town in Hawul Local Government Area, Zulum undertook an assessment visit of the General Hospital.
The Governor directed a complete rehabilitation of the hospital to improve healthcare services.
