The Nigerian Government says it is fully prepared to commence the park and pay system in the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
This is coming at a time when the airport is celebrating the 40th anniversary of it’s establishment as an International Airport situated in the Federal capital city.
The Regional General Manager, Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, Mr, Kabir Mohammed, while commissioning the park and pay automated machine said the essence of introducing the system was to generate revenue and to comply with the airport standard.
“We believe that by the time park and pay system starts there will be law and order in the airport parking space, people will not be parking indiscriminately,” he said.
The Managing Director/Chief Executive Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, Captain Rabiu Yadudu, said his agency was committed to making sure that all the International Airports in Nigeria meet the International standard for smooth operation and passengers Satisfaction.
Captain Yadudu, made the statement in a message during the celebration of the airport’s 40th anniversary in Abuja the nation’s capital.
Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport was commissioned on the 29th September, 1982.
The airport has developed into a hub for Nigeria, Africa and beyond.
It prides in the possession of world-class Airport facilities including a brand new international terminal with a passenger handling capacity of 15 million per annum commissioned by the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration in December, 2018, a recently rehabilitated domestic terminal, as well as a hajj/cargo terminal.
