The Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has dismissed reports claiming that the state government has ordered the closure of schools, describing the information ‘as false, misleading, and intended to incite unnecessary panic.’

In a statement issued by the State Government, authorities clarified that no directive had been given for schools to shut down, noting that such claims were the handiwork of individuals attempting to create chaos.

“At no point did the Government direct schools to close, and we have no intention to do so. This malicious rumor is the work of mischief makers who are bent on tarnishing the image of the Government and disrupting the public peace,” the statement emphasised.

Governor Fintiri urged the public to disregard the rumour and continue with normal academic activities.

He warned that the government would not hesitate to take decisive action against those responsible for spreading falsehoods capable of destabilising the state.

“We will not tolerate any attempt to undermine our efforts to reposition the education sector and improve the lives of our citizens,” the Governor stressed.

Highlighting the administration’s ongoing achievements in the education sector, Governor Fintiri reaffirmed his commitment to providing quality education and transforming Adamawa into a hub of academic excellence.

He called on residents to remain vigilant, support government initiatives, and shun misinformation.

“We warn those spreading false information to desist immediately or face the full weight of the law. We will not hesitate to take action against anyone found guilty of spreading malicious rumors,” he said.

The Governor reassured the public that his administration will continue to work tirelessly to enhance development in the education sector and maintain stability across the state.
