Adamawa State: Governor Fintiri pardons 9 reformed Prisoners

The Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has pardoned nine inmates serving prison terms in various Correctional Institutions across the State, in commemoration of the 2021 Democracy Day.

A statement by the government said the governor, acting on the advice of the Advisory Committee on Prerogative of Mercy, and in the exercise of the powers conferred on him the Nigerian Constitution, ordered the release of 9 reformed prisoners.

The statement said the release of the inmates would take effect immediately because all legal formalities had been concluded with the Correctional Institutions.

It said the nine pardoned inmates were serving various terms in Ganye, Jada, Jimeta, Numan and Yola Old Correctional facilities.
