Adamawa State: Intending Christian Pilgrims undergo screening exercise

A total of one hundred and sixty-nine intending Christian Pilgrims in Adamawa state are undergoing screening process preparatory to airlifting for pilgrimage to the Holy Land this Easter season.

The Acting Executive Secretary, Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board Commission, Mrs. Angelina Emmanuel Ages revealed this in an interview with news men in Yola, Adamawa State Capital.

Mrs. Ages explained that having completed its preliminary screening exercise at the board level, they invited personnel from Abuja to come and carry out further necessary  screening exercise.

According to her, the state board is fully prepared for the airlift as it awaits further information from the national level on the takeoff day and time.

Mrs. Ages  pointed out that among the main catchment areas for the pilgrimage, most intending Pilgrims are preferring Rome and Greece to Jerusalem and Jordan due to the ongoing crisis there.

She however allayed their fear by pointing out that they are in touch with Israeli authorities who assured them of safety of Pilgrims during the exercise.

Also, the state leader of the delegation to the Holy Land and one of the intending Pilgrims, Traditional Ruler, Murum Mbula, said he is committed to ensuring safety, wellbeing and orderliness of the intending Pilgrims.

The royal father who appreciated Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for entrusting him with the rare privilege pledged to justify the confidence reposed in him.

He called on his colleagues to be calm and responsible as well s cooperate with the screening committee.

The Mornach applauded the Governor for approval and sponsorship of quite an appreciable number of intending Pilgrims.
