AFCON 2023: Nigeria Faces Cameroon In Round Of 16
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will face the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon on Saturday in the Round of 16 at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), tagged Cote d’Ivoire 2023.
Nigeria, who finished in second place in Group A with seven (7) points, will face Cameroon who also finished second in Group C with four (4) points.
The Gambia lost 3-2 to the Indomitable Lions in a five-goal thriller in their final Group C match on Tuesday, at the Stade de la Paix in Bouake, Cote d’Ivoire.
Guinea who needed a draw in their game against defending champions, Senegal, lost by 2-0 to drop to 3rd with four (4) points.
The Super Eagles reached the Round of 16 after defeating Guinea Bissau by a alone goal on Monday. The last time Nigeria and Cameroon met at the same stage in the 2019 AFCON in Egypt, the Super Eagles won 2-1.
The thrilling match between Nigeria and Cameron is scheduled for Saturday, January 27th at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan by 8pm (WAT).
