Africa’s top creators, innovators, visionaries, and investors have gathered in Nigeria’s capital, Abuja, to explore the role of Artificial Intelligence in the creative economy.

The Genius Creators Summit had the theme: “AI and the future of content in Africa”.

The convener, Nathaniel Ogwuche, said the summit was to empower creators with the knowledge to understand that using AI tools will help creators.

“That’s why we came up with the genius creators summit, where we have policy makers, stakeholders as investors, business owners, and creators; all in one room to have conversations about how AI is changing the culture of content creating globally and how we can harness some of these AI tools to grow and scale up,” he said.

On his creative journey, “I wanted to create a mark that would stand a test of time, so I moved back from the UK to create something that’s completely different from what we had as the norm when it came to shooting wedding events.”

AI is a global trend that comes with technology, and in response to whether Nigeria is one of the countries that recognises that, Nathaniel says, “Yes. So, Nigeria is gradually meeting the trend; that’s why we believe conferences and summits like this are very important, so that it creates awareness for others. Across the country, you have conferences and summits like this. So it is important for Nigerians to engage as well.”
