The African Development Bank (AfDB) has assured that Africa’s coronavirus-ravaged economies will bounce back, projecting a 3.4% growth in 2021 and 2.4% progress in 2022.
According to the AfricanEconomicOutlook2021, Africa’s projected recovery will be underpinned by a resumption of tourism, a rebound in commodity prices, and the roll-back of pandemic-induced restrictions.
However, the AfDB is calling for debt relief for Africa: “…the time for one last debt relief for Africa is now.”
“Much larger financial support is needed, and the private sector creditors need to be part of the solution. Even more important, the time for one last debt relief for #Africa is now.” #AfricanEconomicOutlook2021 #2021AEO https://t.co/hduEyIdd5d
