The Food and Fashion festival have kicked off in Abuja the nation’s capital.
The food and fashion event is a celebration to promote the Nigerian food and culture.
While speaking with Voice of Nigeria (VON) Correspondent, one of the sponsors and Co-founder of Ibloov, Mr Tokunbo Ojo, said the goal of the project is to promote the Nigerian culture and food to the outside world.
He said the event would also help boost the Nigerian economy.
“The impacts are numerous, economy commerce, the previous events we had over 3000 to 4000 people come around so as you can see vendors are selling, you can also relate it with the influence on the people in terms of the projection of the culture, the food, the fashion, people all over the world are watching.” He said.
According to him, the idea of the Abuja food and fashion festival is to bring vendors across Nigeria together to showcase thier products.
“The Fashion is also a celebration of fashion, it is also to celebrate like Africa, food culture, the African fashion culture, again the plan is to expose it, we love our fashion, we love our food culture, the goal is to also project that to the outside world” He said.
A food vendor Miss Ann Simon commended the organisers of the event adding that the event has given her business more visibility.
“This should be my third time in the Abuja food and fashion festival. It has helped with customer base, I mean it has opened doors to the public I just started last year, but now at least few people know us, it has given us the exposure we need for the business.” She said.
Also, Customer Service Representative of Lady Green Oganic Restaurant, Miss Oma Moses explained that the event though its not the first Fair event they have attended but she is optimistic that thier participation in the “Abuja Food and Fashion festival” would help the restaurant reach wider audience.
A Sales Representative, Queentee Fashion and Beauty Empire, Mrs Ruth Williams said thee event would help their brand showcase their products which is the “Nigerian Tie and Die”
“The production state is in Osun states where, it passes through some processes, its go through some chemicals, there are a lot of patterns that go with it. there are different patterns that we have, it’s about Nigerian fabrics and the African style.”
She added.
The Abuja Food & Fashion Festival is an annual event that fuses creativity, culture, entrepreneurship & networking.
It’s a Celebration that brings Food and Fashion lovers together from all over in honor of our cultural heritage.
