AFRIFF 2024: Phoenix Fury Wins Best Film Award

Nollywood film, ‘Phoenix Fury’ has emerged winner of the Best Film award at the 13th edition of the African Film Festival held at Oriental Hotel on November 10, 2024..

This year’s African Film Festival witnessed the recognition of stellar performances and outstanding films.

Directed by Ifeoma Nkirka Chukuogo Phoenix Fury showcases a filmmaker’s ability to seamlessly blend past and present elements together serving us a fine collage of storytelling.

The film follows Ifeatu from her birth through a series of largely unfortunate events that lead her to seek revenge against a man who wrecked her life; Yali. Divided into four chapters, we are taken on a journey with two main characters for each period.

Phoenix Fury features Nollywood stars including Ama K. Abebrese, Ijeoma Grace Agu, Adjetey Anang, Onyinye Odokoro, Richard Mofe Damijo (RMD) and Uzoamaka Aniunoh.
