Agency Partners Ebonyi Govt To End Drug Abuse, Violence

The Senator Representing Ebonyi Central Senatorial Zone, Engr Ken Eze in Collaboration with National Orientation Agency (NOA) and Ebonyi State Ministry of Information and State Orientation have synergized to put an end to Drug abuse among the Youths in the state.

 

 

Senator Eze vowed to use his good office as the Chairman Senate Committee on information, to turn things around for the common good of Nigeria.

 

The Senator stated this when the Management Staff  of National Orientation Agency (NOA), led by the State Director, Elder Odono Mathew paid the Senator a courtesy visit in Ezza South Local Government Area of the State.

 

He encouraged the agency to embark on a serious sensitisation and orientation to make sure that the value system of Nigeria is not totally wiped away.

 

“The moral values of people is gradually decaying, I urge NOA to their work, thereby sensitizing the members of the public on the need to have values as we all are aware that your value system determines your worth”, Eze advised.

 

The Senator also promised to look into challenges facing the National Orientation Agency in the State, ranging from inadequate staff to poor funding.

 

On his part the State Director, National Orientation Agency NOA, Elder Mathew Odono said the essence of the visit is for familiarisation and to table the challenges facing the Agency.

 

“We are here to identify with our own, now that you are saddled with the responsibility of overseeing the activities of  our Federal Ministry of Information as the Chairman Senate Committee on information. We are urging you to help the agency to address the issues concerning under staffing and poor funding. As it Stands now, there is no functional vehicle in NOA, Ebonyi State office “,Odono said.

 

The State Director urged the Senator to help the agency in addressing the above-mentioned challenges.

 

 

Earlier, the National Orientation Agency had paid courtesy visit to the State Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Engr. Jude Okpor, all to ensure enough collaboration to change People’s attitude for good.

 

The State Commissioner for Information and State Orientation,  Engr Jude Okpor, on his part welcomed the agency in his office.

 

Okpor said the present Government of Ebonyi State led by The Governor, Right Honourable Francis Nwifuru is based on people’s charter of need and as such, the ministry will continue to work with the National Orientation Agency to condition people’s mind in welcoming the good things the administration is bringing for them.

 

During the event, the Deputy Director, Planning Research and Statistics in NOA, Mr Theophilus Nwokpor, in his vote of reiterated their commitment to work in synergy to achieve a common goal.
