Ajiri Attack: Borno Governor orders rehabilitation of destroyed properties

Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum after visiting Ajiri town in Mafa Local Government to assess the damage done by Boko haram ordered immediate rehabilitation of destroyed properties and construction of additional houses to enable more people to return.

On the 5th of May 2021 the insurgents launched an attack on the community of Ajiri killing 8 people and several houses were destroyed.

The governor also engaged the security operatives at the community level to discuss the security situation and give them his total commitment in restoring law and order.

The Governor also met the residents of Ajiri who are now taking refuge in Mafa.

Zulum urged Ajiri residents to be resilient and support the security personnel to defend their community.

The Governor commended the military personnel in the town for their selfless sacrifices.
