Anambra: Federal University Of Environment Bill Scales third Reading

The bill for an act to establish Federal University of Environment, Nanka in Anambra state, was read for the third time at the green chambers.

The bill which was sponsored by Honourable Okwudili Ezenwankwo, member representing Orumba North and South Federal Constituency scaled through third reading at plenary on Tuesday.

According to Ezenwankwo who informed his constituency through his social media page wrote, “It is with great joy that I bring to the good people of Orumba North and South Federal Constituency and the entire Nation that the bill for an Act to Establish Federal University of Environment Nanka has scaled through the third reading. This is coming after a year of its second reading.

“Nanka community has the highest record of erosion menace in Anambra State, Nigeria and the world at large. We face a huge environmental challenge/degradation resulting from gully erosion. Peoples’ houses and properties have been buried to the ground due to erosion menace.

“This establishment when signed by the President will give students opportunities to conduct a first hand research partaining to erosion and other environmental challenges.”

Furthermore, it will create employment opportunities for our teeming youths both within and outside my Constituency.

“In addition, it will help to curb some social vices that emanates from idleness and joblessness and of course attract Federal and the International communites presence to Orumba as a whole.

“I will continue to work effectively and efficiently to ensure that this dream is a achieve only with your support towards my second term bid.”
