NPFL: Remo Stars Put Two Past Shooting Stars

In the last Match Day 3 Group A fixture of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), Remo Stars beat Shooting Stars 2-0 in the SouthWest Derby, at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, Ogun State.

An own goal at the hour mark by Alex Aghahowa and a beautiful curling shot from substitute Godwin Odibo in the 72nd minute saw Remo Stars claim the victory, overtaking Bendel Insurance to first place on the NPFL table with nine (9) points in Group A. Remo tops the table on goal difference.

For Shooting Stars, it was their first defeat of the season as they drop to ninth on the table with two points.

The highly entertaining derby match featured coach Gbenga Ogunbote in his first official visit to Ikenne since departing Remo Stars last year and joining Shooting Stars.
