Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has been given the green light by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to participate in the party’s primary election set for today ahead of the Anambra State governorship poll in November.
APGA’s National Publicity Secretary, Mazi Ejimofor Opara, announced that over 3,260 delegates will take part in the historic event.
The screening process for Soludo was peaceful, with no controversy, and he quietly obtained his nomination forms in Abuja.
Ejimofor said, “In a demonstration of its commitment to deepening democratic principles, the APGA has conducted a seamless screening process for Governor Chukwuma Soludo, paving the way for his candidacy in the upcoming primary election.
“Governor Soludo, who has been endorsed by various groups and individuals for a second term in office, quietly picked up his expression of interest and nomination forms at the APGA National Secretariat in Abuja.
“The party’s National Working Committee, led by Ezeokenwa Sly, has certified him fit for the primary election scheduled for April 5, 2025.
“This development marks a significant milestone in the history of Anambra State elections, as Governor Soludo becomes the first aspirant to seek re-election based on his proven track record of performance.
“The APGA primary election promises to be a historic event, with over 3,260 delegates set to choose their preferred candidate. The party’s leadership has been praised for its commitment to peaceful and stable politics, with the screening process conducted without any rancor or controversy.”
Opara also expressed optimism that APGA would continue to make a positive impact in the state through progressive leadership.
“With its emphasis on progressive leadership and solutions-driven governance, APGA is poised to continue making a positive impact in Anambra State,” he noted.
