Anambra Governor Takes Oath for Second Term

Professor Charles Soludo has been Sworn-in as the Governor of Anambra State for a second term of office.

The Governor took the oath at exactly 10:55 GMT at the popular Ekweme Square in the State capital, Awka.

The Chief Judge of Anambra State, Justice Onachie Anyachebulu, administered the oath of office to the Governor.

Justice Anyachebulu had earlier sworn in Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim as the Deputy Governor of the State before the Governor was sworn in.

Prof Soludo was first inaugurated as Governor of Anambra State in March 2022 and the people of the State re-elected him in November 2025, paving way for his swearing-in today for a second term of office.

Dignitaries present at the inauguration ceremony included  Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, among many others.

His tenure will end in the year 2030.
