Dr. Marcel Ezenwoye, Global President of CIEPUK, conferred the fellowship award on Dr. Law Mefor in recognition of his exceptional professional achievements and contributions to mass communication and entrepreneurial technology. This honor celebrates his distinguished career of over three decades, marked by the successful management of prominent media and communication projects locally and internationally.

“Your fellowship with other Nigerian institutions further emphasizes your exceptional expertise and commitment to excellence,” Ezenwoye remarked.

At the Investiture and Induction Awards Ceremony held at Paul University, Awka, Anambra State, where he was also appointed a visiting professor, Dr. Mefor expressed his gratitude to the institutions involved and pledged his support alongside that of his associates.

He highlighted Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s unwavering commitment to education, exemplified by the provision of free primary and secondary education for all Anambra residents, regardless of their state of origin.

Dr. Mefor stated, “Free education is a vital tool for breaking the cycle of generational poverty. Many families remain trapped in poverty without deliberate intervention. By offering free education, we allow families, once plagued by a legacy of hardship, the opportunity to transform into hubs of prosperity. A basic secondary school education can empower individuals to rise above their circumstances.”

He added, “The free education initiative championed by Governor Soludo is inclusive. As long as one resides in Anambra, they are entitled to benefit from this program. We have noticed a surge of enrollments from individuals in neighboring states, and we welcome them—we believe Anambra is a place for all.”

The Vice Chancellor of Paul University, who presented the fellowship award to Dr. Mefor, granted his request to lecture at the university pro bono during his free time. Furthermore, the Vice Chancellor assured Dr. Mefor that he would be considered for an appointment as an associate or full professor after a peer review of his academic credentials.

The Vice Chancellor also announced a 50% reduction in school fees for certain categories of students and affirmed the university’s willingness to collaborate with the Soludo administration to improve educational opportunities across the state.
