More than 1,000 students of Millennium Nursing College, Awka, have received free high-speed WiFi to support digital learning and research, in line with Anambra State Government’s drive to integrate technology into education.
The initiative, tagged “Connecting Tomorrow’s Nurses Today,” was launched by the Geeks and Founders Alliance for Soludo (GEFAS), aligning with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s policy vision of “Technology Everywhere, Everything Technology.”
The project aims to enhance digital learning, improve access to online academic resources, and better prepare nursing students for the demands of a tech-driven healthcare environment.

The project utilizes a mobile tech hub to deliver reliable internet access directly to the campus, enabling students to conduct academic research, access online learning platforms, download educational materials, and connect with global healthcare resources.
Speaking at the rollout, the Managing Director and CEO of the Anambra State ICT Agency, Fred Agbata, who also convenes GEFAS, emphasized the programme’s transformative potential.
Agbata said; “This initiative is about amplifying Governor Soludo’s vision of a Digital Anambra.
“With this on-the-go mobile connection, nursing students now have the tools for a brighter, tech-driven future.”

He framed the project as a testament to the benefits of sustained governmental strategy, promising that the gains would be made permanent and expanded.
Agbata said; “An initiative like this, inspired by Governor Soludo’s vision, is a clear sign of what continuity in leadership can achieve.
“Through his foresight, a once-abstract vision is now becoming a lived reality for students and citizens alike.”
The move Is seen as a critical step in modernizing healthcare education in the region, ensuring that the next generation of nurses is equipped with both medical skills and the digital literacy essential for 21st-century practice.
