Anambra State: APGA Receives 3,000 Decampees From PDP

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra state, South-east Nigeria, has received no fewer than three thousand (3,000) members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Amanuke, Awka North local government area of the state.
The decampees declared for APGA when members of the community endorsed the APGA candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial District, Honourable Dozie Nwankwo; the APGA candidate for Awka North and South Federal Constituency, Mr. Obi Nwankwo; and the candidate of the party for Awka North State Constituency, Mr. Chimezie Ikwunne.

Announcing the resolution of the people of Amanuke, Mr. Emeka Udenze, a former President of the Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, speaking on behalf of the decampees, said that they had listened to and made their assessment of all the candidates in the general elections and came to the collective decision to support the APGA candidates.
Mr. Udenze explained that their decision was guided by their assessment that APGA and her candidates have a clear vision and the interest of the people of the community, state and nation at heart.
The acting Chairman of APGA in Amanuke, Mr. Ikechukwu Obidiegwu, and the woman leader of the town, Mrs. Joy Ikeyina, noted that the community was dominated by APGA, affirming their belief in the political party and its vision.
They disclosed that the party had embarked on house-to-house sensitization of the electorate on how to vote right come February 25 and March 11, 2023, while calling on the people of the community not to be deceived by politicians who may want to compromise their mandate in one way or another.
Speaking to the people of the community and other communities visited including Achalla, Urum, Isuaniocha and Mgbakwu all in Awka North local government, Honourable Dozie Nwankwo, assured the communities that he would guarantee completion of all outstanding projects and programmes within their communities and other projects included in the federal budget.
For his part, the APGA candidate for Awka North and South Federal Constituency, Mr. Obi Nwankwo, appealed to residents of Awka North and South to vote massively for APGA candidates to continue to enjoy dividends of democracy in the state.
