The wife of Anambra State governor, Mrs Nonye Soludo, has announced immediate plans to distribute hybrid seeds to about five hundred persons in the state to start up their home gardens.

Mrs Soludo, who broke the news on Thursday, on her official social media, said that the aim is to encourage people to adopt home gardens as a means of food sufficiency and healthy living.

“To celebrate my birthday, which comes up later this month, I shall be giving out hybrid seeds (same as those I have in my garden) weekly to a total of 500 persons who are keen to emulate what we’re currently doing at the Healthy Living Exhibition Garden.

“To benefit from this gesture, you must show appreciable desire to owning a garden and must agree to adhere to our rules on purely organic cultivation methods. Finally, you must be willing to send us routine visual (pictures or videos) proofs of your garden’s development stages until the harvesting period.

“Winners will be announced here and on other affiliated platforms every weekend until the end of July. Each winner will be directly contacted and have their packages sent to their locations, only within Anambra State.

“We are building something super unique through this project. For me, seeing these gardens blooming beautifully in five hundred households in Anambra State equals the joy of any birthday celebration. So, give it your all. Maybe there’s another big reward for your dedication.”

She added that starters, can watch video lessons from the preliminary stages of her Healthy Living Exhibition Garden and other more videos to be uploaded on her handles to help their whole journey.

The Anambra state first lady who is also the founder of the non-governmental crusade, Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo initiative whose birthday comes up on July, 31, 2024, added that seeing each garden doing well across all the benefiting households would give her every sense of celebration that any birthday could present.
