The Anambra State Government, on Saturday, officially opened the doors of Solution Fun City in Awka to the public, marking a major milestone in the state’s drive toward becoming a leading destination for tourism, entertainment, and economic innovation in Nigeria.
The event, which drew an impressive crowd of residents, dignitaries, and celebrities, was a celebration of culture, creativity, and community. Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, who spearheaded the legacy project, expressed optimism about the facility’s potential to transform the state’s leisure and economic landscape.

“With the launch of Solution Fun City—which features a water park, amusement park, and a world-class international country club—Anambra is positioning itself as a top-tier hub for arts, entertainment, and recreation in Nigeria,” Governor Soludo stated during his address.

The park, which was formally commissioned by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on May 8 during a one-day visit to Anambra, is now open for commercial and recreational use. It is part of Governor Soludo’s broader development vision of building a “liveable and prosperous homeland.”
The grand opening was nothing short of spectacular, featuring exhilarating performances by Nigerian music sensation Flavour (Chinedu Okoli), who headlined the entertainment lineup. Known for his electrifying blend of traditional and contemporary highlife, Flavour had the audience dancing and singing along. He was joined on stage by notable artists including Umu Obiligbo, Jennifer Eliogu, and MC Ezegetive, each delivering dynamic performances that celebrated Anambra’s rich cultural heritage.

The festive atmosphere extended beyond music. Attendees had a firsthand look at the state-of-the-art facilities designed to serve families, tourists, and leisure seekers across all age groups.

Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefoh, described Solution Fun City as a “comprehensive leisure and economic project built to international standards.” He emphasized its role in Governor Soludo’s broader vision of making Awka a central leisure destination for the Southeast.
“This is not just a fun park,” Dr. Mefoh said. “It’s a strategic investment. The revenue it will generate will fund similar projects in Anambra South and North Senatorial Zones, making the benefits statewide.”

In attendance were prominent figures including the Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim; Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze; business mogul Chief Emeka Offor; and a host of Nollywood stars and entertainment industry stakeholders.

Taking to his official social media handle on Sunday, Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, described the grand opening of the Solution Fun City as a landmark achievement for the state.
“The grand opening of the Solution Fun City in Awka yesterday marked a significant milestone, signaling a new vista of opportunity for Ndi Anambra,” the Governor stated.
Now open to the public, Solution Fun City is poised to become a major recreational and tourism hub, offering visitors a fresh dimension of Anambra’s renowned hospitality.
