APC Aspirant Zanna Declares Bid for FCT Senatorial Seat

By Tanimu Hassan Abuja

An aspirant for the Federal Capital Territory senatorial seat under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, Dr. Amina Zanna Ibrahim, has formally declared her intention to contest in the 2027 general election, promising purposeful and inclusive representation for Abuja residents.

Speaking during her declaration, Dr. Ibrahim said her aspiration was driven by conviction and a desire to deliver impactful leadership that addresses the pressing needs of residents across the FCT.

According to her, the people of Abuja deserve governance that is closer to them and leadership that translates into visible improvements in their daily lives.

The aspirant further stressed the need for stronger inclusion of women in governance and leadership, noting that women must move from mere participation to active representation in decision-making processes.

She noted that despite Abuja’s status as the nation’s capital, many residents continue to grapple with economic hardship, unemployment, transportation difficulties, insecurity in satellite communities, inadequate housing, and poor infrastructure in underserved areas.

“These are not statistics to me. These are realities I understand,” she stated.

Dr. Ibrahim explained that her years of involvement in community development, women empowerment, entrepreneurship support, advocacy, and leadership have shaped her understanding of governance and public service.

She emphasised that leadership must be rooted in service and intentionality. Outlining her agenda, the APC aspirant stated that her focus would revolve around economic empowerment, affordable living, youth development, women’s inclusion, community infrastructure, and effective representation.

On economic development, she pledged to champion policies that would support small and medium-scale enterprises, women-owned businesses, youth entrepreneurship, vocational development, and improved access to finance.

She also reaffirmed her loyalty to the leadership of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, while calling on party members, stakeholders, women, youths, professionals, and residents of the FCT to support her aspiration.
